Anyone who now thinks, sustainability and economics are irreconcilable opposites is clearly barking up the wrong tree. The reality is: As long as the forest is dependent on subsidies, its continuity is all but ensured. If we really want long term conservation of this ecological resource, it is indispensable that the forest earns its financial means by itself. 

The irreversible principle of sustainability speaks against its exploitation, which not only applies to ecology for us, but also to the economy and the social function of the forest: conserve nature, ensure profitability and maintain the forest as a habitat for humans. 

What does this type of win-win situation actually look like? About 20 million Euros were invested in the care and plantations of state forests in the financial year 2007. Much more than in a comparable period in previous years. We will continue to follow this path!
